Kensington Oval
Kensington Oval is Barbados’ oldest cricket ground having been established in 1882 when Pickwick Cricket Club leased 4 acres of pasture land from Kensington Plantation and started to develop it as a cricket ground with a clubhouse. In 1914 the Barbados Cricket Committee the forerunner of current Barbados Cricket Association (BCA) bought the Oval but continued to allow Pickwick to lease the ground until 2004. With significant investment from the BCA the ground was expanded and upgraded over the years and by 2004 had grown to just over 7 acres. The field was surrounded by stands with a seating capacity of 14,500 plus a players pavilion and media centre and the Oval had been used for events other than cricket such as soccer, hockey and other field sports pageants cultural events and concerts.

Concorde Experience
In the Museum, you get the opportunity to fly the Concorde yourself. It is a simulation, of course, but so realistic it gives a tingle to your nerves as you guide the plane along the runway on the screen in front of you, pull back on the throttle and see it rise gradually and gracefully into the air and then guide it on its journey – to wherever you wish around Barbados. You can do with it things which most people have only been able to read about or imagine, making the plane dive, climb, loop and so on and, if you are careful enough and have not crashed it, you can have the immense pleasure of landing it on the same runway from which it had lifted off under your own guidance and piloting. It is an experience to be long remembered.

Oistins
On Friday night particularly, the big thing to do is go to the fish fry at Oistins Bay Gardens. The food is the main draw - excellent fish, (tuna, swordfish, marlin, mahi-mahi, flying fish), lobster, chicken etc served in an extremely informal setting. You can get your fish grilled or fried depending on which vendor you choose from. It's all cooked on the spot in front of you.
